Waarvan die nummer één echt een nieuwe favoriet is. Hier de eerste regels van dat boek:

Zojuist begonnen aan "The Circle" van Dave Eggers als voorbereiding op de verfilming die er in het najaar aan zit te komen. Leest tot nu toe makkelijk weg, maar het is nog even de vraag welke kant het precies op zal gaan. Het idee klinkt me wat cliché, maar wellicht geeft Eggers er nog een leuke draai aan.

Net 'Koekoeksjong' van Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling) gelezen. Zeer goed boek: leuke personages, goed verhaal, goed geschreven.

Gisteren ook maar meteen de 2 vervolgen in huis gehaald

Omdat je Nederlander bent natuurlijk, dan valt het op dat je nooit Nederlandse boeken leest.

Tja, Mulisch boeken die ik na 2 pagina's weer weg leg en boeken van oud-klasgenoten helpen dan niet...

Ik ben niet van je gewend dat je zo snel opgeeft, Kurz. Jij bijt je juist eerder ergens in vast. Allereerst heeft dat boek van die oud-klasgenote niets, maar dan ook niets met literatuur te maken , dus dat kun je wegstrepen. Daarnaast reduceer je de literatuur van een willekeurig ander land ook niet tot de eerste twee pagina's van een boek van één schrijver.

Ah, maar nu neem je aan dat ik omdat in de afgelopen vier jaar, sinds ik ben gaan bijhouden wat ik lees, geen Nederlandse literatuur las, ik het nooit gedaan heb. Van Mulisch heb ik bijvoorbeeld al drie keer eerder een boek vroegtijdig weggelegd. Van de 'Grote Drie' heeft alleen Hermans me ooit echt kunnen bekoren.

En ergens in vast bijten, daar moet je wel gemotiveerd/gefascineerd voor zijn. En het is niet alsof ik geen Nederlands wil lezen, het is meer dat er zoveel anders moois is dat voor mij prioriteit heeft. En al op de boekenplank staat, het geld ervoor al uitgegeven.

Ah, maar nu neem je aan dat ik omdat in de afgelopen vier jaar, sinds ik ben gaan bijhouden wat ik lees, geen Nederlandse literatuur las, ik het nooit gedaan heb. Van Mulisch heb ik bijvoorbeeld al drie keer eerder een boek vroegtijdig weggelegd. Van de 'Grote Drie' heeft alleen Hermans me ooit echt kunnen bekoren.

En ergens in vast bijten, daar moet je wel gemotiveerd/gefascineerd voor zijn. En het is niet alsof ik geen Nederlands wil lezen, het is meer dat er zoveel anders moois is dat voor mij prioriteit heeft. En al op de boekenplank staat, het geld ervoor al uitgegeven.

Mulisch zelf vond zichzelf misschien de alpha en omega van de Nederlandse literatuur, maar jíj mag nog een uit enorme andere berg Nederlandse boeken kiezen hoor
